Todays thoughts

This is not the post I thought I would be writing. I have been thinking of posts on economics, greed, faith vs. religion and a number of other things. The news this morning has changed that somewhat.
The coronavirus outbreak in America is escalating at a frightening pace, and, despite the obvious examples from the rest of the world of what will happen if this goes unchecked by enforced social isolation, there are only just appearing advisory notices on some travel restrictions. The reason behind this - restrictions of freedoms and lockdowns are "un-American" or "unconstitutional".
Even more worrying is the announcement in Texas, probably to be followed soon by other States, that gun shops and arms markets are "essential services", along with the big financial institutions and centers.
And apparently this will all be over by Easter!
Wake up America, this is not a political point scoring opportunity. This is very real, and very dangerous and a lot of people are going to get very sick or die just so you can say you have defended your rights.
My thoughts and prayers are with the American people, but I fear they will need far more than that.
